James asks…
Does Karma apply to bullies?
Will bullies ever experienced what it’s like to be made fun of, ridiculed, laughed at, humiliated, and talked about sooner or later in their lives? Do they get a taste of their own medicine? Are the sayings “What goes around comes around.” and “You reap what you sow.” true. My mom always says that. So will the people that talked about me, humiliated me, laughed at me, and ridiculed me get theirs?
Suzi Q answers:
I was a sceptic. I didn’t believe in all of this. But what I have realised is that people who bully others (at school, at work, whatever) sooner or later meet someone who is a bigger bully than them. And bullies don’t like other bullies! It’s a power thing, they like to be the one in control. It’s also an insecurity thing, bullies make themselves feel better by damaging the self image of those around them. They build themselves up by putting other people down.
I can’t tell you if these bullies will get what they deserve. What I can tell you is that sooner or later, you will see most of these people fail at life in some way. What works in some situations, doesn’t work in others, so unless they change, they are setting themselves up for eventual failure.
Another thing to remember is that bullies don’t have friends, as such. They usually surround themselves with people who are afraid of them. I’m willing to bet that they are lonely and miserable, and couldn’t name one person in life they can rely on.
I was bullied at school for five and a half long years. They drove me insane with their relentless harassment. And then I was accepted into the top college in the country, and I left town. Now I have a great career, a life I’m happy with, a fantastic group of friends, a happy marriage, a house, a car, cats, lol. Most of these people work in my local supermarket. They’ve offered to pack my bags on a regular basis 🙂
Don’t worry about these people, they won’t feature in your life in the long run. Just don’t let them ruin your future. Your key to escaping is to work hard and get the Hell out of there. Make sure that you get yours. These bullies don’t even deserve another moment of your thought.

George asks…
Just a question about the meaning “What goes around comes around”?
I get in moods where I like to read about these different types of “sayings” and such. I would like to know the meaning of this one though. A few months back I asked about karma and gave my situation from one time. I was a bad friend to my friend, and a while later h found out about a few things and we are no longer friends after being friends for a long long long time. Is that the meaning of “What goes around comes around”. Is it just another way of saying karma?(cause and effect)
Either way I learned my lesson. I was young and dumb and selfish then.
Suzi Q answers:
Yes, also the judeo-christian you reap what you sow. Most faiths/philosophies have some version of this.
For years i misheard a fiona apple song lyric as “but it’s karma under the bridge” i loved that idea because it describes for me how sometimes those people have come back into my life after we both have done selfish things and it’s good again anyway. Even if we both “learned our lesson”,never came back together but treated others more respectfully from that point on, i still think it would mean something that we can stop worrying on.
Take care
