Black Magic and Superstitions – Still to be Reckoned With

Black magic and superstitions have always been related to one other from past ages. It is generally seen that people who are superstitious are more inclined toward adherence to black magic. The origins of numerous superstitions are dependent upon black magic. Many superstitions also have their roots in old magic and mystical sciences.

The Malaysian and the Indonesian people are very superstitious. From urban businessmen to rural farmers, they take resort to black magic to improve their living standard. There are many superstitions related to black magic in these countries. Some believe in practicing black magic in front of graves to get money, power, fame, or whatever is desired in life. Believing in charms, amulets and totems also show connections of black magic with superstitions. Some superstitions also use black magic in various fields like defeating a business rival or even forgery and supplication of money.

Black magic is also widely prevalent among the Muslims who use it to ward off evil spirits or ghosts. Black MagicGod has given Quranic verses to cure many ailments and diseases. Some people misuse those verses and use black magic in the form of magic spells for destruction and disasters. So the prophet has strictly warned people from using black magic as it is a source to reach hell.

Therefore it is forbidden to practice black magic in Islam. All these superstitions make the behavior of a person irrational and illogical. So is black magic. Illiteracy and ignorance are the basic qualities of a person that leads him to superstitions involving black magic. Some superstitions associated with black magic are so cruel and harsh that it’s shameful such customs are still being encouraged in this modern world.

In India, there many cruelties practiced towards humans as well as animals due to these superstitions. Intense black magic like voodoo is used against the people to gain benefits. Young boys are killed as sacrifices offered to Gods to practice black magic. Many women in the rural parts of India are killed after being beaten ruthlessly just because they were considered as witches.

Numerous so called ‘babas’ in India, wearing saffron clothes are being pampered because of their so called supernatural powers or having the knowledge of black magic. The people have this notion that following these babas will give them relief from their problems.

Some of the tribes in Thailand follow superstitions related to black magic somewhat similar to voodoo. They make use of dolls for this purpose. Therefore it is a common superstition that one should not leave their hair lying on the ground after combing or after having a haircut.

Surin in Thailand is the popular and the main center of black magic. Superstitions that have white magic connections are beneficial to the society. But black magic being contagious and sympathetic magic has harmful effects on the person on whom these are carried out. Superstitions reflect the eagerness of fulfilling a desire. Because of such superstitions a person can go to any means for fulfilling their desires, whether it involves black or white magic.
