Faux Reality – Fake and maybe Real Life Situations

Faux reality, what’s that? We don’t know, we just made up the term to indicate all is not what it seems to be. You will see that in some of the videos we’ve found for your enjoyment.

With all the research into Good Luck, Bad luck, Karma, and other terms related to good luck it’s time for a bit of fun. Here to take your mind off the thoughts of superstitions and luck are a few videos and such to get you in a different frame of mind. Some are funny, some are real, and some are skits and jokes played on people. Whatever, whether related to luck or not – and most may not be related in any way to luck we hope you will enjoy our selection of videos and other content.

The Phone?

What’s this new invention that replaces texting? I cannot imagine what hi-tech device could replace texting. Especially since it is so widespread and convenient. Well it’s at least convenient to most people, but I detest texting so much I don’t even have a cellphone. I am an official dinosaur. Just ask my children.

Kegasus Lives to Rule

Centaurs are real or so it seems. This is the strangest centaur I’ve ever seen. But if you don’t believe it Kegasus, “Lord and Protector of Infieldfest” was at the 136th running of the Preakness Stakes last year. The half horse, half man, ruled over the giant party that happens with the second leg of horse racing’s Triple Crown. If you happen to see this awesome creature be sure to snap a picture and send it to me.

Stressed out Office Worker

Are you the kind of person that gets stressed out easily? Well we can surely understand it if you do, especially if you have to use a computer. How many times when it let you down, went offline, the printer ran out of paper or just didn’t work at the very time it was important and you needed it. Well take a look at this short video and see if it applies to you or someone you know.

This Employee Flips Out Royally

This looks real, but whether real or not I can certainly understand the frustration the worker and her boss both had. I once worked at a job that I had previously been warned by several other programmers never to consider working there. Unfortunately I remembered that AFTER I had accepted the contract and started working there. I was a contract computer programmer where I would have a contract to work for a large company for a short period of time, usually for a few months, sometimes longer. I remember when I first started at one particular company I would sometimes see an employee come out of the boss’s office crying or feeling dejected. After being there for a few months I understood why. I felt the same way, even though as a contract programmer I didn’t have to put up with such harsh reviews. But believe me I was so frustrated sometimes I crossed my fingers that my contract would be over immediately.

I would go into meetings where the manager would outline a system that, by all rights would take months to accomplish – and that’s if everything went perfectly, which never happens in software development. The thing was, they expected many weeks worth of work done the next day!! Now I could understand fully why I saw so many girls coming from their review crying like babies. I asked one of those girls that just could not stop bawling what happened. She told me she had just gotten the worst chewing out in her life. She had given her all, tried her best, and not only was it not enough, not appreciated, but she had only days to reverse the decision to let her go by doing about a month’s worth of work by the end of the week.

Now if you want to know what company that was – I’ll only say the main company owned one of the most expensive department stores in the USA and another popular chain of department stores in Southern California. A short time after my contract was over I was glad to see their local department store chain go out of business (I worked for the company that did their data processing [now called IT Department]), although I did feel sorry for any workers that couldn’t find another job.

We here at Wish Good Luck hope you enjoy these videos and photos, etc. as much as we do. Faux reality is alive and well.
